Plant resources in Chenshan Mountain

The area of the nine peaks has nearly 655 species of plants under 123 families and 415 genera. It has the most abundant plant resources in Shanghai.

Chenshan Mountain: Liquidambar formosana Hance, Robinia pseudoacacia L.-Rubus hirsutus Thunb-Poa acroleuca Steud.-Trachelospermum jasminoides colony: The arborous layer is dominated by Liquidambar formosana Hance and Robinia pseudoacacia L., accompanied by Ailanthus altissima, Celtis julianae Schneid, Quercus fabri Hance, Ulmus parvifolia Jacq., Albizia julibrissin, Ilex corallina Franch., Ligustrum lucidum and Celtis sinensis.

The shrub layer is dominated by Rubus hirsutus Thunb, accompanied by Rosa multiflora Thunb., Cyperus alternifolius, Forsythia viridissima Lindl., Rubus coreanus, Euonymus alatus and other shrub species. In the shrub layer, there are also many arbor species, such as: Celtis julianae Schneid, Liquidambar formosana Hance, Robinia pseudoacacia L., Cinnamomum camphora, Ailanthus altissima, Ligustrum quihoui Carr., Broussonetia papyrifera, Ulmus parvifolia Jacq., Albizia julibrissin, Zelkova serrata, Celtis sinensis, Quercus fabri Hance, Firmiana simplex, Aphananthe aspera Planch., Ilex corallina Franch., Celtis labilis and Cudrania tricuspidata.

The herbaceous layer is dominated by Poa acroleuca Steud., accompanied by Chrysanthemum indicum, Herba Lophatheri, Paederia scandens, Carex tristachya, Ajuga decumbens Thunb., Polygonum hydropiper, Semiaguilegia adoxoides, Oxalis corniculata, Pieris multifida, Sporobolus fertilis and etc. Interlayer plants are dominated by Trachelospermum jasminoides, accompanied by Euonymus fortunei, Akebia quinata, Cocculus orbiculatus and etc.
