Main mammals: Prionailurus bengalensis, Arctonyx collaris, Nyctereutes procyonoides, Mustela sibirica and Erinaceus europaeus. Prionailurus bengalensis is an animal under national class 2 protection. There are 38 species of birds in sixteen families and seven classes. They are all arboreal birds.

The cooperative survey of Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and Shanghai Wildlife Conservation Management Station in 2007 discovered Sheshan eurypholis major, Sinonatrix annularis, Bambusicola thoracica and Parus venustulus exclusively existed in Sheshan, Shanghai.

Parus venustulus is in the list of national protected wildlife. In addition, both the pangolin under national class-2 protection and raccoon dog under national protection were found in Sheshan National Forest Park. The observers also found badger, a wild beast which was always believed to have become extinct in Shanghai.
