The 2019 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon took place on March 18, attracting more than 10,000 runners from 26 countries to take part.

Hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, Songjiang district government and Shanghai Sports federation, the event's route passed through some of the most beautiful scenery in Songjiang district. The half-marathon is 21.0975 kilometers long.

After fierce competition, Paul Kariuki Mwangi from Kenya ran the time of 01:02:08 to finish win the men's half marathon. Kabura Janet Njeri won the women's race with a time of 01:02:08.

Chinese runners Yang Dinghong and Zhou Tingting claimed the first place in the domestic men's and women's groups respectively.

The contest started at Shanghai Happy Valley, through Sheshan National Forest Park, Moon Lake Sculpture Park, Chenshan Botanical Garden, and Gaungfulin Relic Park, before ending at Guangfulin Country Park.
