Sheshan launches activities to celebrate Shangsi Festival

A series of featured activities is to be launched at Guangfulin Relics Park to celebrate the upcoming Shangsi Festival.

The Shangsi Festival, also known as Double Third Festival, is celebrated on the third day of the third lunar month which falls on April 7 this year.

It is a Chinese traditional festival celebrated by Chinese ethnic groups Han and Zhuang to ward off evil spirits and natural disasters, and to pray that sons and daughters will have children.

Visitors can have the chance to dress up in Han clothing on March 30 and 31 to celebrate the festival. They can also learn about Han culture on April 5, 6 and 7. Chinese traditional games will be organized on April 13 and 14 at Guangfulin Relics Park.
