The site is in the south of Chenshan Mountain. In early 2009, when Chenshan National Botanical Garden was built, impressed potteries in the Zhou Dynasty (1046~256 BC) were collected on the site.
It was confirmed by the staff of the Shanghai Cultural Relic Management Committee and Cultural Relics Census Office that they were made more than 3,000 years ago. The discovery of these ancient potteries symbolizes another historical site of ancient culture in the area of Sheshan Mountain.
The discovered historical site has been protected by the archaeological studies department of the Shanghai Cultural Relic Management Committee and the project management department of the Chenshan National Botanical Garden.
