Some staff members from Chenshan Botanical Garden paid a five-day visit to Nanshan Botanical Garden in Chongqing city on August 19. They learned managerial skills from the Nanshan garden and Jiuzhaigou Valley, which was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1992.
The staff observed the garden's exhibition and production greenhouses on August 20, led by Wu Song, the vice director of the Chenshan Garden. They exchanged ideas on greenhouse management with Peng Guangfu, the chief engineer of the Nanshan Garden.
The visit provided a good opportunity for staff to draw on each other's experience and learn more about the managerial techniques required to run a botanical garden.
The Nanshan Botanical Garden is not only home to various plants in subtropical regions of China, but is also a research center to collect, cultivate and protect these plants. It was credited as a national AAAA level scenic spot in 2002 and is considered a top 10 scenic spot in Chongqing.
