Chenshan Botanical Garden was invited to a large promotional activity for the Shanghai 2012 Tourism Festival held in the city of Hangzhou and Nanjing from August 17 to 20, along with representatives from 18 other scenic spots in Shanghai.
It was the first promo activity held for the festival, aiming to introduce the festival to the general public in the Yangtze River Delta. The organizers chose the Yintai shopping center in downtown Hangzhou and the Confucius Temple in Nanjing to host the activity. Promoters hoped that more travelers will visit Shanghai during the tourism festival and the coming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
Though people in the two cities suffered from hot summer weather, they still showed great enthusiasm for the promo activity. The garden's show booth attracted many visitors to stop and learn about the features of the garden. The activity proved to be a great opportunity to promote the garden.
