The 10th Songjiang "Root of Shanghai" Cultural Tourism Festival and 2012 Songjiang Shopping Festival will be held on Sept 17 at Songjiang Kaiyuan-Mediterranean Plaza in Shanghai.
The tourism festival will contain 24 activities in eight sections, including recreation, art, fashion, ecology, folk-customs, agriculture, sports and commerce. It will last 20 days until Oct 6.
The second Yangtze River Delta Self-Driving Forum, Shanghai Happy Valley Magic Festival, Chenshan Autumn Flower Show and other wonderful activities will be launched as important parts of the Songjiang Tourism Festival.
During the festival, four scenic spots and three restaurants in Songjiang district will host promotion activities. Shanghai Happy Valley will sell half-priced tickets to tourists from Sept 17 to Sept 19. Shanghai Sculpture Park, Chenshan Botanical Garden and Shanghai Film Park will also sell half-priced tickets from Sept 17 to 23.
The Songjiang commerce and tourism commission has produced a collector's stamp album named "Huafengtingyun" to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Root of Shanghai" Cultural Tourism Festival. The album includes 24 stamps about scenic spots in Songjiang district and includes stamps commemorating the 10 past tourism festivals.
