The eighth Forest Tourism Festival of Sheshan National Forest Park will be held from Sept 22 to Oct 7 and will consist of the 10th Songjiang "Shanghai Root" Culture Tourism Festival. The festival activities include:
• Local tree and medicinal plant exploration activity: tourists can learn about carbon sequestration and environment decontamination through plant explorations.
• Scientific knowledge popularization and religion culture activities: tourist will climb to the summit of Sheshan Mountain and enjoy the splendid landscapes of the Sheshan Observatory and Sheshan Catholic Church, the largest Catholic church in East Asia.
• Old tree and famous wood species adoption activity: Sheshan will find caretakers to increase citizen responsibility to protect old and precious trees. Those who are interested can voluntarily apply.
• Low carbon travel activity: Sheshan will advocate healthy and green travel and provide convenient public buses for tourists.
