In a bid to attract tourists, Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai built a lotus-leaf ship. The ship was created using the large leaves of giant water lilies. Chenshan held an activity to place babies on the "ship".

Owing to the great weight capacity of giant water lily leaves, Chenshan created the activity to attract tourists and educate them on giant water lilies. Babies who weighed about 15 kg could sit on the leaves with the help of special staff.

To avoid affecting the growth of giant water lilies, the activity was limited to 10 babies a day. Parents who wish to have their children participate in the activity can apply on Chenshan Botanical Garden’s official weibo. The application deadline is noon on Sept 28.
