Chenshan Botanic Garden will hold a flower show from Feb 9 (New Year's Eve) to Feb 24 (Lantern FESTIVAL ) at its greenhouse to celebrate the coming new year with residents.
The flower show will display splendid flowers blossoming under the unique temperature controlled environment of the greenhouse, some of which are in full bloom. The flowers will include well-known tulips and lilies, such as bulbous hippeastrums imported from Holland. Over 15,000 flowers in 20 varieties, such as tulip, hippeastrum, jonquil and lily, together with the Spring Festival flowers cyclamens and rieger begonias, will create a brilliant atmosphere at the festival. The show will also display illustrations explaining the flowers'meanings.
A series of ticket discounts will be given during the show. Visitors can enjoy a half-price discount on Jan 23, the two-year anniversary of the opening of Chenshan Botanic Garden. A lucky number will be selected every day from Feb 9 to 15, and the top 100 visitors whose last ticket numbers are the same as the selected number will get the chance to win a free ticket for the 2013 Shanghai International Orchid Show.
Visitors coming on their birthday and newlyweds in 2013 can visit the garden free of charge. In addition, visitors whose birthday or marriage registration date is Feb 14 can not only visit the garden for free, but also receive one free ticket for the 2013 Shanghai International Orchid Show each.
Chenshan Botanic Garden will also organize a selection of the top 10 Spring Festival flowers in Shanghai and invite local residents to pick out their favorites.
