Shanghai Happy Valley offered migrant workers half-off prices on tickets during Spring Festival. As of Feb 15, over 10,000 had come to enjoy the park.
A migrant worker Tang Dadong and his family from Anhui province came to Happy Valley on Feb 10. Tang Jiao, the daughter of Tang Dadong, had a good time in the amusement park. Accompanied by her parents, she headed to her favorite rides: the spinning top, merry-go-round and bumper cars. Her joy also spread to her parents.
"My daughter usually stays at home, doing homework or reading books, during Spring Festival holidays in the past," Tang Dadong said. This year, he took her out to have some fun and enjoy the warmth of Shanghai after hearing of the half-price discounts for migrant workers and the park's fun activities.
The discount will last until Feb 24. Other discounts include free visits for local residents over 50 and a buy-one-get-one-free promotion for visitors over 18 on the evening of Lantern Festival.
