Shanghai Happy Valley opened to local elderly residents over 50 for free during Spring Festival. The offer delighted numerous senior citizens, including two centenarians.
The promotion will extend to Feb 24. Two centenarians stood out among the visitors on Feb 23.
Wang Jiakang, one of the centenarians, was overwhelmingly delighted by the sight of Happy Valley. "I’m more energetic than most men my age. I even took part in the Shanghai International Marathon Competition last year!" the 103-year-old man said. He asked his son-in-law to take him to Happy Valley upon hearing about the various activities held there during Spring Festival.
"Going to pleasant places frequently to keep myself happy is the reason of my longevity," he laughed and said. His joy has spread to his daughter and son-in-law.
