The organizer and sponsor of Formula One's Chinese Grand Prix unveiled a new garment for the event's showgirls as well as a trophy, both designed by Chinese artists.
The garment, designed by Shanghai-based designer Wang Qingfeng, is modeled on tight-fitting qipao dresses and uses red, white and gray colors made of a silk-and-linen composite fabric, evoking the elegance of traditional Chinese dresses and the high-speed sport.
The trophy, made of colored glaze, bronze and enamel, resembles a ding, a three-legged cooking or storage vessel often used as a symbol of power in ancient China.
The 10th edition of the event will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit from April 12 to 14.
