Several hundred young people got an excellent chance to explore the beauty of plants and experience the joy of nature at Shanghai's Chenshan Botanical Garden, on July 14, thanks to the Shanghai Youth Science Camp.
The Shanghai Youth Science Camp 2013, which was sponsored by the Shanghai Association for Science, the municipal education commission, Fudan and five other universities, and the China Shipbuilding Industry Group, pulled in nearly 1,400 outstanding high school students from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to explore the beauty of science.
There were around 900 of them making the visit to the botanical garden, which was an important site for camp, and it arranged a tour accompanied by some excellent science instructors to ensure that the campers could see the fun of science and, at the same time, learn something.
The botanical garden's main purpose is to play a major role in increasing the understanding of science and provide a top-rate botanical garden for the public, especially young people, a place where they can learn more.
