On the morning of April 12, a lecture on botany was hosted in the second floor auditorium of the Science and Research Building in Chenshan Botanical Garden.
Themed "Secrets in the Botanical Kingdom", the event was co-organized by Chenshan Botanical Garden and Shanghai Science Popularization Lecture Management Office. It attracted 160 middle school students from Shanghai Weiyu Middle School.
Chenshan Botanical Garden's main theme is "Plants and Health" so it focuses on scientific content and awareness, and provides a lovely garden landscape that integrates research, popular science, landscaping and leisure. The botanical garden opened in 2011 and was designated as a "Shanghai Popular Science Education Base" in 2013. It was also a "National Popular Science Education Base" in 2012.
It has devoted itself to providing a first-class interactive scientific educational system and has held related activities such as on-site classes, summer camps, popular science forums and a Fascination of Plants Day, which promoted popular science among Shanghai residents. The cooperation between Chenshan Botanical Garden and local schools is an innovative move to promote the dissemination of science. This dynamic way pf arousing students' interest in environmental conservation is very popular.
