A concept has been put forward in the new overall planning for Shanghai’s Sheshan National Tourist Resort, which will establish two independent core areas with two different themes, for people of different ages to relax.
The eastern core area will be mainly for young people to relax in. It adopts the business model of a theme park and commercialization.
It has entertainment venues such as Shanghai Happy Valley, Playa Maya water park, and a golf circuit. Some amusement facilities such as theme parks and auto camps, and middle-priced hotels and commercial facilities have been suggested in the plan to be established there.
The western core area will be mainly for middle-aged and older people to have fun. A slower pace of living will be created here according to the plan. With a good natural environment and rich religious culture, the western core area will be designed into a health and leisure area.
