Animals from the Shanghai Zoo are moving into a new home at Shanghai Chenshan Botanic Garden where they will learn to live in a comparatively wild environment.
A total of 36 animals of seven species have moved to the botanic garden, including mandarin ducks, alpacas, black swans, mallards, mini-musk swines and goats.
These animals settled at coops and a lake in the Children's Garden. The garden, which was renovated last year, occupies an area of more than 10,000 square meters and is equipped with children-friendly facilities such as large sand pits and a tree house. The arrival of these animals adds more fun to the garden.
The "Small Zoo" intends to display a harmonious coexistence of animals and plants. The Chenshan Botanic Garden offers natural forests, lakes and grassland so that animals can gradually adjust to and survive the wild environment. The coops they lived have also been renovated to be similar to their natural habitats.
