About 50 families from Shanghai Changning district joined a parents-children event at Shanghai Sheshan Children's Camp on May 17.
These families were divided into four teams to have a test on their knowledge on waste sorting and reduction as well as healthy food. They also competed in games testing their reaction to fire emergencies and other dangerous situations.
The event raised the safety awareness of children and enabled children and parents to befriend one another.
Located at No 506, Huanshan Road at the southern foot of West Sheshan Mountain, the camp site covers an area of 2.2 hectares. By hosting various events, it aims to bring children and teenagers closer to nature, teach them outdoor survival skills and self-help consciousness in emergencies.
