The National Tourism Administration is now inviting submissions of traveling conventions to promote civilized behavior while traveling.

Li Jinzao, director-general of the administration, attended the launching ceremony of the convention collection activity. He hoped that everyone would learn from President Xi's instruction on civilized traveling and take their share of responsibility to build a civilized society.

The convention collection started Dec 1 and will last for six months. Submitted ideas should directly result in civilized behavior while traveling, and demonstrate the country’s cultural heritage as a land of courtesy. They should have distinct themes and profound implications. The descriptions of the conventions should be brief, concise, easy to understand and serious, and contain no more than 300 Chinese characters.

After the end of submissions, all the conventions will be reviewed by an experts committee and through public votes online. The grand, first, second and third prize winners will receive rewards worth 1,000 yuan to 3,000 yuan, and will be awarded an honorary title of "Civilized Traveling Ambassador". The National Tourism Administration will refine and polish the selected ideas before publishing its final version of "Behavior Conventions for Chinese Travelers".

The National Tourism Administration will open theme pages on its official website, and launch various promotion activities like questionnaire surveys, creative video clips, and online voting.
