The brand value of Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Shanghai has recently reached 6.09 billion yuan ($1 billion), according to the "2015 Regional Brand Value Assessment Report" released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of China.
The report shows that the annual average excess earnings of Sheshan National Tourist Resort were 377,000 million yuan, with 702 points in brand intensity strength.
The country's AQSIQ has figured out a brand valuing system based on mature theories, becoming the first organization in the world to quantify brand values scientifically. In 2015, a total of 119 regions in the country had been involved in the brand value assessment work.
