Chenshan Botanical Garden's "Orchid Seeking Adventure" activity, aimed at getting children excited about science, has been well received since it began on April 2, and the organizers are welcoming more kids to join in with the fun in the remaining two weeks.
Upon checking-in at the garden gate hall, visitors will receive an outdoor sports bag with a portable haversack, a compass, a specimen box, a magnifying glass, measuring tools, test paper and event cards to take with them on their exciting nature journey.
Children will be transformed into young explorers and will have to venture across the artificial forest, sea, prairie, dessert and mountain to reach the final destination "rainbow island". Observation skills and abilities will be tested during the process as kids complete various missions using recording and measuring to obtain the precious orchid.
The event aims at getting children excited about science and giving them basic knowledge of botanical plants, especially the ecological value of orchid. Many kids have acquired outdoor survival skills, boosted their exploring courage and developed team spirit.
The "Orchid Seeking Adventure", is held every weekend and public holiday, and will last till May 8.
