The Shanghai Maya Water Park at Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort hosted its second underwater kissing contest on July 17, with 20 couples taking part.

After enjoying some Ukrainian folk dancing, the couple jumped into the pool to see who could hold a kiss underwater for the longest time. Xie and Li, a young couple from Putuo district in Shanghai were finally crowned the winners with an underwater smooch lasting 1 minute and 15 seconds. The happy couple won a prize of a pair of diamond rings worth 10,000 yuan ($1,492).

The summer season at the water park has hosted many fun and exciting activities for visitors over the holidays, such as a samba, Hawaiian dance activity and many rides, fun for the whole family.
Each summer, the Playa Maya Water Park is popular with tourists from home and abroad. Since its opening in 2013, the park has received a total of two million visitors during the two operating months each summer.
