Go on a date with Sheshan this autumn

Sheshan National Tourist Resort is to launch a series of activities from Sept 20 to Oct 28, in the wake of the opening of Shanghai Tourism Festival earlier in September.

1. International Magic Festival

Time: Oct 1 to 7

Location: Shanghai Happy Valley

Details: During the golden week holiday there will be magic-themed float parades, large-scale international magic shows from more than 10 regions and countries.

 

2. 2016 Yao Pao 24-hour City Relay Race: Shanghai

Time: Sept 24 to 25

Location: Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park

Details: The 24-hour relay race is a team relay, with a minimum of four team members and maximum of 12. A single lap covers 2.8 kilometers, to be finished within 40 minutes. Former NBA star Yao Ming is the ambassador of the race, encouraging citizens to take part in more exercise.

 

3. The second Songjiang district orienteering challenge

Time: Oct 6 9:00-15:00

Location: Sheshan National Tourist Resort and surrounding Songjiang landmarks, including Happy Valley, Chenshan Botanical Garden and Guangfulin Relic Park.

 

4. Mountain climbing in Sheshan on the Double Ninth Festival

Time: the morning of Oct 9

Details: The Double Ninth Festival in Chinese lunar calendar is also known as the "Old Men Festival". The elderly are meant to improve their health by taking part in the activities on the day of the festival.

Location: East Sheshan Mountain Park

Details: The day will feature drum performances by senior citizens, a mountain-climbing ceremony as well as mountain climbing itself.

 

5. 2016 Chenshan autumn-themed flower and fruit show

Time: Sept 28 to Oct 28

Location: Chenshan Botanical Garden

Details: There will be 10 display regions with different themes, including succulent plants, ferns and pumpkins, as well as music performances and photography activities.

 

6. Sheshan eco-culture tourism festival

Time: Sept 20 to Oct 7

Location: Sheshan National Forest Park

Details: There will be low carbon outings, plant introductions, old and rare tree adoptions.
