Shanghai's first meteorite exhibition was opened at the city's astronomical museum on July 22. The exhibition, which closes in mid-October, allows visitors to see close-up views of real stars and observe displays of 30 kinds of meteorites from various places in the solar system.
Visitors to this exhibition can enjoy close observation of these "fallen aliens" and gain a deeper understanding of their scientific importance. The heaviest meteorite on display weighs 350 kilograms.
"Meteorites have high value for scientific research value," said an astronomer. "The study of meteorites can provide significant value to research into the physical and chemical conditions when the Earth formed. Moreover, that research is of great value to the study of the solar system."

This exhibition, which is supported by a leading meteorite research institute, offers the public an insight into the true nature and importance of meteorites.
Opening time is from 8:30 am to 4 pm, and tickets are 12 yuan ($1.80) per person.
