Hundreds of the world's top drone pilots showed off their aerobatic skills at Sheshan on Nov 18-19, as the scenic area in Shanghai's Songjiang district hosted an international drone racing contest.
In the competition, contestants from home and abroad wearing VR glasses controlled their machines in high speed flight through FPV (First Person View), guiding the drones through various arches, dart flags and other obstacles. The first drone to finish the course is the winner.
The drones in the competition were assembled and debugged by the contestants themselves.
Spectators can also use FPV glasses to watch the contest from a more authentic perspective to feel the real sense of excitement and freedom that comes with flying.
After fierce competition, Sha Haiou, a veteran drone pilot, stood out from hundreds of contestants to be the winner.
The X-FLY Drone International Racing Contest is dubbed "F1 in the Air". X-FLY is a new-born drone racing brand aiming to world's top commercial drone racing competition.
The drones used in the contest were all a special kind of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) featuring high speed, small size, short duration and more flexibility. Drone players are enthusiastic about buying all kinds of accessories and assembling parts to form a team and shoot videos in the pursuit of winning the championships.
