Hundreds of traditional and modern colored lanterns were lit up in Shanghai Happy Valley, to celebrate the approaching holidays.
The New Year lantern festival runs from Dec 8, 2017 to March 2, 2018 covering Christmas, New Year's Day, Chinese Spring Festival, Lantern Festival and Valentine's Day. The 85-day lantern show is based on four themes: Dazzling Time, Symphony in the Sea, Beautiful China, and “Bizarre World”.
Shanghai Happy Valley invited over one hundred craftsmen to design 50 fantastic packed programs focussing on four themes: “Dazzling Time”, “Symphony in the Sea”, “Beautiful China”, and “Bizarre World”.
It offered two tickets. Visitors can enjoy the various lighting models from Monday to Thursday priced at 80 yuan ($11.9) and 100 yuan ($14.9) from Friday to Sunday night.
Christmas party as an important part of the New Year lantern festival also was launched on Dec 8 offering visitors a fairytale snowy world. Snowman, ice princess, Santa Claus with costumes can dance, take photos with visitors when the snow is up in the sky.
Hip-hop music lights the wild fire in the chilly winter. Renowned hip-hop stars from Shanghai will present excellent performances.
The "Lake of Illusions", a high-tech multimedia water show mixing water curtain, fountain, music laser, 3D image and fireworks also offer visitors with a new great visual entertainment at Shanghai Happy Valley.
