The forth Shanghai Chenshan international orchid seminar will be held at Chenshan Botanical Garden, Songjiang district, Shanghai on March 23-24.
The orchidaceae are a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants, with blooms that are often colorful and fragrant. They are commonly known as orchids.
Organized by Chenshan Botanical Garden, the international orchid exhibition is a grand flower gala held in March and attracts many visitors in China and from abroad. As an important part of the event, the Orchid Academic Seminar focuses on professional techniques in exchanging orchid plants.
This year's seminar will invite Chinese and foreign experts to talk about how to protect and cultivate orchids when the environment is under extreme threat. With the theme of protecting orchids genetically, the seminar will also pay promote study of orchid genomes.
