Some of the world's top golfers are set to start fierce competition at the 2018 World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai's Songjiang district on Nov 25-29.
The HSBC Champions was founded in 2005 and achieved World Golf Championships status in 2009. It is one of Asia's biggest tournaments in terms of prestige and prize money.
A total of 78 athletes from 22 countries and regions will compete for the increased prize fund of $10 million.
Defending Champion Justin Rose will defend his title against a world-class field which includes all of the year's winners, 10 of the victorious European Ryder Cup team, China’s No 1 Li Haotong and five past champions - Francesco Molinari (2010), Ian Poulter (2012), Dustin Johnson (2013), Russell Knox (2015) and Hideki Matsuyama (2016).
Li Haotong turned in the best finish of a Chinese player in the WGC-HSBC Champions when he came 7th at the WGC-HSBC Champions in 2015.

In addition to the top players in Asia, organizers have added virtual reality technology and lakeside viewing platforms to improve fan experience.
