Dream City, the first Smurfs-themed park in the Asia-Pacific region, started trial operation in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort on Dec 18.
The theme park, jointly developed by Shimao Group and International Merchandising Promotions and Services SA, reproduces the village of the Smurfs, a series of comic characters created and introduced by Belgian comics artist Peyo, also known as Pierre Culliford.
Visitors can track the main storyline of Smurfs and be a part of the most classic moments in the popular series.
During the trial operation, people of all ages can enjoy various special discounts as well as a full array of winter entertainments including immersive performances and interactive games.

"It is hoped that with the participation of Shimao and the Smurfs, theme parks can be not only 'un faiseur de plaisantristes', but also being the best company during the growth of children," said Peng Yueqi, vice-president of Shimao Commercial and Themed Entertainment.

Getting There: Take Shanghai Metro line 9 and get off at Dongjing Station, then take bus No 96 and get off at the West gate of NM Magic City
