A rare orchid that has produced more than 500 corollas or flower heads is being exhibited at the Chenshan Botanical Garden in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort -- in the Songjiang district of Shanghai in East China.

The rare plant only produced three corollas when it was first planted in the garden in 2011. Over 10 years of breeding, it has grown from a height of 10 cm to 140 cm and has continued to propagate flowers to its current level.

The plant has bloomed since December, 2020 and not only is the viewing period long, but the color and variegation of the petals is remarkable.

The rare orchid currently has 52 stems or peduncles, producing more than 500 individual corollas or flower heads, making it a rare and particularly large ornamental example of its species.
