As China basks in the fervor of the Winter Olympics, Ice and Snow World at the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort has emerged as a popular tourist destination this winter.
Located inside the Smurfs Theme Park in Dream City, Ice and Snow World is an indoor attraction that covers 600 square meters. It features many ice sculptures made by professional ice sculptors from Harbin, the "Ice City of China".
Ice and Snow World has drawn many families to play in the snow when it first opened before the Spring Festival.
Visitors can enjoy the ice slides, watch the snow fall, build snowmen, and have snowball battles on-site.
Warm clothing and shoe covers can be rented as well. The coat and shoe covers cost 40 yuan ($6.32) per person, whereas the coat, trousers, and shoe covers cost 60 yuan per person.
Dream City has introduced family-friendly ticket packages. The Smurfs Theme Park, Ice and Snow World, and the Jiaolong VR facility cost 299 yuan for an adult and a child, and 449 yuan for two adults and a child.
Children can meet their beloved Smurfs and explore and play in the mushroom houses at the Smurfs Theme Park, which offers a reproduction of a Smurf village scenario. The Jiaolong VR entertainment facility, which is based on China's Jiaolong manned submersible vessel, offers an underwater virtual reality experience.
