Due to a recent heat wave, Shanghai Playa Maya Water Park has welcomed many visitors to play in the water and beat the summer heat.

The water park, which only opens in summer, is holding its annual water carnival, allowing visitors to enjoy various activities.

Cool sunglasses, powerful squirt guns and cute swimming rings have become common items among visitors' belongings. During the carnival, visitors can join in squirt gun fights and water-splashing activities which are held every day at the park's Caribbean Beach and Pantheon Square.
