Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park received 142,400 tourists during the seven-day National Day holiday, an increase of 23.76 percent year-on-year.
As Shanghai's only natural mountain and forest resort, the park boasts 12 mountains stretching 13 kilometers from southwest to northwest as well as abundant plant resources, making it an ideal place for those who want to get closer to nature.
During the holiday, the park was also holding the 2022 Sheshan Forest Tourism Festival that featured various activities to enhance tourists' experiences in the mountains and forests.
The activities included forest explorations, bird observations, camp painting and plant landscaping DIY, which promoted the park's mountain and forest resources and gave visitors an opportunity to learn more about the park's biodiversity.
Natural science popularization was also a highlight at the festival. Circular display panels were placed in the park to introduce various animals that inhabit the area and their habits and characteristics. Plant samples were placed inside glass bottles and hung under the corridor in the park with strings.
The forest park implemented strict COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures and maintained safe, stable and orderly operations during the holiday.
For instance, visitors had to undergo body temperature, reservation code, Suishen code and travel code checks, wear masks, and present negative nucleic acid test results taken within 72 hours before visiting the park. The park also set up venue codes at all entrances and exits, and equipped six sets of smart inspection devices for visitors' health verifications when entering the park.
Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park is located in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Songjiang district in the western suburbs of Shanghai and is 30 kilometers from downtown.
