The InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland hotel, the world's first underground five-star hotel, is selling three preferential packages priced from 2,088 yuan ($304.09) that contain high-quality accommodation and travel options.
The hotel is located in an 88-meter-deep quarry in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort and is close to many popular tourist attractions. Its rooms and suites all feature panoramic views of the quarry, green hills and a rushing waterfall. Sixteen of the 18 floors are underground and two are actually underwater. The hotel was listed as one of the architectural wonders of the world due to its pioneering design. Its construction cost 2 billion yuan and took 12 years.
Every package includes a one-night stay at the hotel's superior room, the InterContinental Superior Room Garnet, and two buffet breakfasts. The 2,088-yuan package and the 2,188-yuan package also include a takeout lunch box.
Travel options are offered in two packages. The 2,188-yuan package includes two tickets to the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. The 2,288-yuan package includes tickets to go-kart riding and, by choice, two tickets to the Smurfs Theme Park, the Wonderland Area or the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park.
The packages are valid until March 31. Buyers of the packages who check in at the hotel before Feb 28 can enjoy a free upgrade to the hotel's deluxe room -- the InterContinental Deluxe Room Turquoise.

The InterContinental Superior Room Garnet is between 36 and 44 square meters. Some rooms have a beautiful view of the waterfall outside, and guests have the opportunity to see the hotel's large-scale light and water show that features virtual reality.
The room also features impressive high-tech technology and 24-hour butler service. Guests can command the service system at any time with their voice. For example, just say "play song" to enjoy beautiful music.
