Shanghai Happy Valley is set to hold the 2023 Butterfly Festival, which will run from March 3 to 31, to usher in the springtime tourism season.
The amusement park recently announced that the festival is themed on "romantic adventures" and plans to unveil a number of promotions and activities for festivalgoers, especially for female visitors.
During the festival, the opening hours of Shanghai Happy Valley will be extended to 9 pm. The amusement park launched afternoon tickets for the festival that are valid from 4 pm and priced at only 69 yuan ($9.99).
Female festivalgoers can enjoy half-price tickets, which cost 130 yuan per person, and are available until March 16 and valid until March 17.
The original ticket price is 260 yuan but the cost for two people together has been reduced to 366 yuan during the festival.
To please female visitors, Shanghai Happy Valley plans to transform into a pink paradise and an ideal destination for taking photos during the festival. Pink things such as flowers, ice cream, and decorations can be seen everywhere in the park. On March 8 and 14, female visitors can receive hand-made roses.
To celebrate Women's Day, which falls on March 8, visitors who have won the titles of "March 8 Red-flag Bearer", "March 8 Red-flag Medal" and "Female Pacesetter" commended by the All-China Women's Federation and Shanghai Women's Federation can enjoy free admission to the park in March.
During the festival, Shanghai Happy Valley plans to host a romantic activity on March 18. Singles can sign up to attend a networking party to meet their Mr. or Mrs. Right.
Another highlight of the festival is that there will be music parties at night.
At special locations and activities, visitors will have the opportunity to meet handsome guys who have become popular on social media and take photos with them.
Shanghai Happy Valley is a popular amusement park with a range of thrill-seeking rides and is located in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort.
