Shanghai's Sheshan resort offers summer fun for all

As the summer heatwave hits the country, many people are looking for ways to cool off and enjoy themselves.

The Sheshan National Tourist Resort in East China's Shanghai – a scenic spot with mountains, water and forests – has launched a summer carnival with a variety of fun activities for visitors of different ages and interests.

Located in Shanghai's Songjiang district, the Sheshan National Tourist Resort covers a planned area of about 64.08 square kilometers and a core area of about 10.88 sq km. It's 30 km away from the city center and has 12 mountains that stretch 13 km from southwest to northeast.

The resort is also rich in history and culture – with many relics, landmarks and temples that showcase the city's heritage.

For those who love water sports and entertainment, the resort has several water parks to choose from – such as the Smurfs Park, Jegoplay Too Pancoat Park and the Playa Maya Water Park.

For those who are curious about nature and science, the resort offers opportunities to visit the Fulin Youth Village of Guangfulin Relic Park, where they can see an insect art exhibition and join a forest adventure.

They can also explore ancient trees and learn about forest fire prevention in the Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park.
