The Chenshan Natural Life Festival, a major outdoor family carnival in East China's Shanghai, will be held during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holidays – from Sept 29 to Oct 6.

It'll feature a raft of fun and fascinating activities and exhibitions on plants, art and science.

The festival, held at the Chenshan Botanical Garden, will have five major sections, four stages, 28 plant science activities and 50 live music and art performances, according to the organizers.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a sunflower field covering over 10,000 square meters and four themed horticultural exhibition areas – showcasing different types of flowers and plants, such as sunflowers, water lilies, cockscomb flowers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and okra.

The festival will also present science short dramas and talk shows – such as Who Killed the Little Bee and The Magic of Plant Pigments – to introduce the world of plants to children in a fun and interactive way.

In addition, it will invite musicians and actors from choirs, harmonica ensembles and children's theater groups. They'll guide kids on how to learn about various forms of art and will break down the artistic elements of a performance.
