The Sheshan National Tourism Resort – a very popular destination in East China's Shanghai – participated in the 5th Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo on Sept 22-24.

At the event, it displayed its rich cultural and natural resources and sought out cooperation with other participants.

The expo – held in Suzhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – aimed to spread the word about the local Grand Canal culture and showcase the beautiful life along the canal, which is the world's longest artificial waterway and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At the promotions event, the Sheshan resort introduced new highlights for the upcoming 2023 Shanghai Root Culture Tourism Festival, which will offer a variety of fun and great activities for visitors in autumn.

It also staged a Huju Opera performance, a traditional art form, and a Shanghai municipal intangible cultural heritage item.

In addition, the resort unveiled some surprises for the visitors. These included gifts from the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Site, Shanghai Happy Valley, Tianma Mountain Park and Xiaokunshan Park – which are all attractions there – as well as a buffet dinner coupon for two at the Hilton Shanghai Songjiang Guangfulin.

During the upcoming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, which will run from Sept 29 to Oct 6, some attractions in Sheshan resort will also offer things to Suzhou citizens. These will include half-price discounts for the Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park Tianma Mountain Park and Xiaokunshan Park and a reduced 80 yuan ($10.95) per person for adult tickets – which are normally 100 yuan – for the Shanghai Yuehu Lake Sculpture Park, for those carrying ID cards.
