At the heart of East China's Shanghai lies a rich tapestry of history, just waiting to be unveiled.

The Young Explorers Camp invites young detectives aged 9 to 14 on a captivating two-day adventure – on Jan 27-28 – to explore the ancient wonders of the Songjiang prefecture and the enigmatic Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park. Songjiang prefecture was the ancient name of Shanghai's Songjiang district during the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368).

This immersive experience aims to provide a special blend of education and entertainment, offering children the chance to step back in time and discover the roots of Shanghai's captivating history.

The journey begins with a visit to the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, where young participants have the opportunity to meet the Shanghai Museum archaeologist and Guangfulin archaeology expert, Huang Xiang.

In a face-to-face encounter, children will delve into the origins and development of Guangfulin culture, adopting the role of little archaeologists expressing their curiosity about field archaeology and prehistoric civilizations.

What's more, a highlight of the morning activities is a hands-on experience of restoring a ceramic artifact. As children gaze upon relics from different eras discovered through Guangfulin archaeology, they'll listen to intriguing anecdotes about these historical treasures. This interactive session aims to provide a three-dimensional understanding of Shanghai's urban civilization development history.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues within the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, leading the young explorers to the mysterious Underwater Palace at the Guangfulin Cultural Exhibition Hall. Here, submerged triangular roofs on the lake's surface hide untold legends. The children will travel back in time to Songjiang prefecture, uncovering the truth of their ancestors' treasures through immersive live interactions.
