Songjiang hosts 2024 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon

The 2024 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon started to the very second at 7:30 am on April 21 in the Shanghai Happy Valley – located in the Songjiang district of East China's Shanghai – attracting nearly 5,000 participants from around the world.

Kenya's Mayaka Evans Nyakamba clinched the men's title with an impressive time of 1:03:27, while Chinese contender Pan Hong triumphed in the women's category, clocking in at 01:15:01.

Behind the scenes, a robust support system ensured the safety and well-being of the runners, with ambulances, medical stations and over 1,000 volunteers stationed along the route to aid.

Moreover, the event embraced technological advancements, integrating 5G, big data analysis and facial recognition to enhance management efficiency – highlighting the event's status as a cutting-edge sporting happening.

Beyond the race itself, the 2024 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon partnered with the Shanghai Charity Foundation's Songjiang branch to contribute to a project that aims to provide financial aid to underprivileged students to improve their educational opportunities.
